About the Role

The Software and Platform Architecture Team is seeking a creative and highly skilled AI Lead Architect with deep Subject Matter Expertise in AI governance and implementation. This role will bridge the gap between advanced AI technologies and practical business needs, helping to design, build, and oversee the integration of scalable artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI workloads, ensuring security, compliance, and alignment with enterprise objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, lead, and contribute to AI Architecture evolution and governance.
  • Evaluate AI frameworks, platforms, and tools to recommend optimal build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Guide foundation model selection aligned with CBC's use cases and infrastructure capabilities.
  • Lead the architecture of AI applications using large language models (LLMs), machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
  • Develop architectural roadmaps for deploying AI initiatives, including generative AI (GenAI), LLMs, and agentic business processes.
  • Lead the integration of scalable artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI workloads, ensuring security, compliance, and alignment with overall enterprise objectives.
  • Monitor emerging AI technologies and assess their business value.
  • Establish architectural standards for model performance, traceability, data lineage, and privacy compliance.
  • Understand business requirements and identify AI use cases.
  • Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications.
  • Craft prompts, evaluate outputs, and design automated end-to-end agentic workflows.
  • Continuously test and refine models to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance in production.
  • Support continuous monitoring and governance of AI solutions post-deployment.
  • Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Work with business leaders to define desired outcomes, success metrics, and value drivers for AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ethics and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and CBC's governance standards.
  • Mentor technical teams on AI architecture best practices.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in software architecture, cloud architecture, data engineering, or AI solutions.
  • 1-2 years of experience designing enterprise AI or machine learning solutions.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native AI solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and AI application deployment using languages like Python or R.
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience with data management systems and MLOps tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Git, model registries).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, technical leadership, and ability to evangelize AI adoption internally.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • A mandatory Criminal record check.
  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
