About the Role
New Castle Building Products is seeking a qualified CDL A Driver for their Long Island City, NY location. This role is crucial for safely transporting building materials to clients, ensuring operational efficiency and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Drive heavy-duty / commercial trucks and operate warehouse & truck mounted forklifts.
- Adhere to DOT regulations, including vehicle inspections and ELD hours of service.
- Load material onto trucks and offload material at job sites, verifying order accuracy.
- Follow safety procedures and policies.
- Perform frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds.
- Utilize logistical software applications, such as Descartes Mobile Link.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide a high level of customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years of Class A driving experience.
- Detail and customer service oriented.
- Warehouse and truck mounted forklift experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 preferred.
- Hazmat Endorsement preferred.
- Prior experience in building materials is a plus.
