About the Role
This role involves supporting individuals in community participation across two locations in North York, ON. The position is permanent casual and requires flexibility with workdays and times.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in community participation at Finch Ave and Islington Ave locations.
- Facilitate meaningful community activities.
- Build curriculum and lesson outlines.
- Build partnerships within the community.
Requirements
- DSW or CYS Diploma
- Current Valid FULL G Driver's License an asset
- Computer Skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Email, etc.
- Experience in Behaviour supports
- Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports
- Experience in Community Participation Supports (CPS)
- Experience in Employment supports
- Experience supporting people with a dual diagnosis
- Experience supporting people who don't use words to communicate
- Experience supporting people who experience Autism
- Experience supporting people who experience FASD
- Current NVCI
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Able to lift 20-25 lbs
- Able to perform restraints
- Able to perform CPR
- Able to provide personal care which may include lifting, bending and/or twisting
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting
- Creativity, planning, organization
- Strong time management skills
- Understanding of Passport
- Ability to work at any community location/venue
- Selection based on Article 13.03 of the UFCW Toronto-York Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement.
