About the Role
This is a temporary, full-time position for 6 months, requiring 40 hours per week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. The role involves supporting community participation and requires flexibility based on program needs and seasonal programming.
Responsibilities
- Provide behaviour supports
- Provide medical supports
- Provide Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports
- Provide Community Participation Supports (CPS)
- Provide Employment and Volunteer supports
- Support individuals with a dual diagnosis
- Support individuals who do not use words to communicate
- Support individuals who experience Autism
- Support individuals who experience FASD
- Research, create, and facilitate meaningful community activities
- Build curriculum and lesson outlines
- Build partnerships within the community
Requirements
- Valid FULL G driver's license required
- Current NVCI
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Able to lift 25 lbs
- Able to perform restraints
- Able to perform CPR
- Able to provide personal care which may include lifting, bending and/or twisting
Skills
- DSW or CYS Diploma
- Computer Skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Email, etc.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting
- Creativity, planning, organization
- Strong time management skills
- Person Directed Program Planning
- Community Connections
- Great customer service skills
- Understanding of Passport
- Ability to work at any community location/venue
