About the Role

Wirecutter is seeking an experienced, organized, and collaborative testing logistics coordinator to manage their Long Island City test spaces and support newsroom-wide testing. This role is crucial for enabling rigorous product testing and ensuring journalists' work is efficient by maintaining smooth operations of products, schedules, and test spaces across teams and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute testing projects in the Long Island City testing facility, remotely, and at offsite locations.
  • Work with journalists on day-to-day logistics for their testing, including schedules, supplies, test plans, set up, and break down.
  • Manage test product purchasing, including tracking shipments, inventories, reconciling transactions and budgets, and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and safety requirements around testing are met and documented.
  • Work frequently with video and photo teams on visual and creative projects involving testing or test spaces.
  • Collaborate with editorial operations and creative teams to document and iterate on testing processes, develop new workflows, optimize communication, and lead trainings.
  • Plan and facilitate special testing projects and initiatives, including the paid tester program, public testing events, or outside media appearances related to testing.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of journalistic independence and the company's mission.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in a product testing, inventory, or project management-based role.
  • Experience creating and maintaining internal systems, processes, and databases, especially inventory tracking.
  • Experience juggling various priorities, assignments, and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.
  • Experience managing a production, studio, or similar workspace with projects or events to coordinate.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Airtable, Slack, Miro, and other project and database management tools.
  • Experience with product testing or reviewing products.
