Responsibilities
- Administer partner drawings throughout the year
- Manage annual and interim drawing adjustments
- Process top-up payments and profit distributions
- Maintain pension and tax information used in calculations
- Provide remuneration modelling and analysis
- Support partner scoring and remuneration reviews
- Prepare decision-support information and reports
- Liaise with external tax advisers
- Manage partner tax return and payment processes
- Forecast future payments on account and tax liabilities
- Administer partner capital and loan arrangements
- Monitor capital adequacy requirements
- Produce annual current account reporting and resolve queries
- Maintain accurate partner accounting records
- Work with Cashiering to ensure accurate payment processing
- Ensure transactions are reconciled and appropriately recorded
- Act as the primary contact for partner financial enquiries
- Support mortgage, loan, and financial reference requests
- Provide guidance on taxation, capital, drawings, and partnership processes
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience in partnership accounting, professional services, or legal finance
- Strong understanding of UK partnership and personal taxation
- Previous experience in the legal sector or professional services firm is advantageous
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong communication skills, particularly when explaining finance terms with non-finance staff
- An ability to express oneself both orally and in writing in a clear and constructive way
- A willingness to ask questions, listen to others’ views and accept advice
- A willingness to contribute ideas and seek improvements
- Self-motivation and an ability to organise own work with supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure and cope effectively in demanding circumstances
- Good time management, adopting a flexible approach to work and a willingness to work overtime when the needs of clients or the firm so dictate
- Persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives
- Paying attention to detail and quality of work
- A commitment to improving working practices and supporting the firm’s plans and policies
