About the Role

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Architect with healthcare experience to lead major healthcare projects and manage smaller ones. This role offers the opportunity to focus on significant projects for a growing client base within a creative and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Lead major healthcare projects, managing program, budget, time, and resources.
Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the healthcare team.
Coordinate contract documents, design/consulting teams, and manage projects through completion.
Handle all project aspects including design development, working drawings, contract administration, and on-site services.
Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation with other disciplines.
Independently lead elements of large/complex projects or manage smaller projects.
Manage client relationships and team communication, including project teams and budgets.
Resolve complex technical and design issues.
Conduct on-site inspections and document site reviews.
Maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications.
Process change control requests and address RFIs during construction.
Support proposal, submission, and presentation preparation.
Interface with statutory authorities during design and construction.
Develop and promote excellent people management practices.
Contribute to business development activities.
Adhere to quality management, environmental management, and health & safety procedures.
Promote the use and continuous development of appropriate systems, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered.
Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience.
Background in UK projects, specifically healthcare and potentially science.
Demonstrated experience of healthcare projects exceeding £100m in a project leadership role.
Experience working on larger projects as part of a team.
Experience in day-to-day leadership for smaller projects.
Working knowledge of Revit and BIM experience.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, design standards, and best practice.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Client leadership experience in both NHS Trust and Contractor engagements.
