About the Role
Arcadis seeks an Associate Principal level Healthcare experienced Architect to support major healthcare projects and manage smaller ones. This role offers the opportunity to focus on a growing client base within a creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem-solving and design excellence across Health, Education, Science, and Living sectors. You will coordinate design and construction phases, deliver high-quality architectural solutions, lead project elements independently, and support studio management with programming and resourcing.
Responsibilities
- Support and lead projects with responsibility for program and budget management.
- Manage time and resources effectively, promoting best practice and knowledge within the Studio.
- Coordinate contract documents, design/consulting teams, and manage projects through to completion (contract administration).
- Engage in all project aspects: design development, working drawings, contract administration, and on-site services.
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with other disciplines.
- Lead elements of large/complex projects or small projects independently.
- Manage client relationships and team communication, including project teams and budgets.
- Resolve complex technical and design issues.
- Conduct on-site inspections and document site reviews.
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Process change control requests during construction and address RFIs.
- Support proposal, submission, and presentation preparation.
- Interface with statutory authorities during project design and construction.
- Develop and promote excellent people management practices.
- Contribute to the business development activities of the Studio and office.
- Understand and adhere to procedures including quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems.
- Promote the use and continuous development of appropriate systems, procedures, and protocols.
Requirements
- RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience.
- Background across UK projects, specifically healthcare and potentially science.
- Experience working on larger projects as part of a team and day-to-day leadership for smaller projects.
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM experience.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, design standards, and best practice.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
