About the Role
The Experiences category is crucial for making Blue Light Card membership rewarding by providing accessible and meaningful days out, attractions, live events, cinema, and entertainment. This role involves owning the end-to-end commercial performance of the Experiences category, translating strategy into delivery, building partner relationships, and leading a team. It sits at the intersection of commercial rigor and cross-functional collaboration, offering significant breadth and the opportunity to shape the category's future.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial performance of the Experiences category, focusing on member savings, revenue, and retail media, and achieving departmental targets.
- Execute and adapt the category strategy using data, consumer insight, and market awareness to identify growth opportunities.
- Lead and develop a team, coaching them in strategic thinking and accountability.
- Take ownership of top-tier new business opportunities, managing deals from identification to close.
- Lead senior commercial negotiations with key partners to secure favorable commission, offer quality, and media investment.
- Oversee delivery for key trading moments and seasonal campaigns, ensuring strategic partner representation and integrated plans.
- Lead cross-functional projects to drive meaningful change across the business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior partner stakeholders, positioning BLC as a strategic partner.
Requirements
- Proven experience in partnership or account management within a consumer, marketplace, leisure, entertainment, or digital business with a track record of commercial results.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing a team, fostering a high-performing culture and coaching strategic thinking.
- Strong commercial judgment, including experience leading complex negotiations and structuring deals for long-term value.
- High data literacy, with the ability to use performance metrics and consumer insight to identify risks and opportunities and create delivery plans.
- Experience owning or significantly contributing to cross-functional projects, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think broadly, spot opportunities, and adapt to a fast-moving market.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management skills, both internal and external, with a collaborative approach.
