About the Role

Seeking Labour & Employment Lawyers to advise clients at large companies on workplace matters, with expertise in employee investigations, compensation, pension and benefits, general employment law, or labour relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to employers on labour, employment, and workplace matters, including employee relations, policies, terminations, accommodations, leaves, and other employment issues.
• Conduct or advise on workplace investigations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, retaliation, and other employee complaints.
• Advise on compensation, pension, and benefits matters, including employment-related compensation programs, incentive arrangements, pension and retirement plans, and employee benefit programs.
• Counsel employers on labour relations matters, which may include collective agreements, unionized workforces, grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and labour disputes.
• Partner with HR, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and business leaders to identify and manage employment-related legal and regulatory risks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of legal experience in one or more of the following areas: employee investigations; compensation, pension and benefits; general employment law; or labour relations, preferably with in-house experience.
• Experience advising employers and HR teams on workplace matters and applicable Ontario and Canadian employment and labour laws.
• Strong ability to provide practical legal guidance and work cross-functionally with HR and business stakeholders.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
