About the Role

The Box Truck Driver is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport freight safely, efficiently, and compliantly. This role ensures timely deliveries while adhering to all regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Transport freight between company facilities, customer locations, and designated destinations.
  • Perform required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely driver logs, inspection reports, and trip records.
  • Secure cargo according to safety standards to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transit.
  • Input fuel receipt into ELD before leaving the pump.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, incidents, and route changes.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents promptly to management.
  • Assist with loading and unloading freight as needed.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers, vendors, and the public.
  • Follow company safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Clean MVR.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and proper cargo securement.
  • Must pass a DOT physical examination and drug test.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, and securing of cargo.
