About the Role
Fuel student success by supporting assigned students according to their individualized education plan (IEP). Provide customized behavior support and teach valuable life skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Work with diverse students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Provide one-on-one support to meet IEP goals, including necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
- Implement behavior support plans, recording data on behaviors, progress, and incidents.
- Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
- Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary for safety.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment to encourage social and behavioral skill development.
- Supervise students and ensure constant monitoring, including during transitions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for consistent behavior support plan implementation.
- Provide personal care support based on student needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs is preferred.
