About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Customer Service Representative to join our Pricing - Creditor Insurance Call Centre team. In this role, you will handle inbound and outbound calls with applicants to gather medical information and complete standardized medical questionnaires. Accuracy, professionalism, and familiarity with medical terminology are essential, as the information gathered directly supports pricing decisions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured call centre environment, follows defined processes, and is comfortable discussing medical information with empathy and clarity.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a call centre environment
- Communicate with insurance applicants by phone to gather medical information using guided questionnaires
- Accurately record medical disclosures in systems and according to approved processes
- Process creditor insurance applications in accordance with pricing requirements
- Collaborate closely with underwriters to obtain or clarify additional medical information
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information professionally
- Meet established performance expectations (quality, productivity, and adherence)
- Provide a respectful, inclusive, and positive experience for all applicants
Requirements
- Bilingualism (proficient in French and English) required, as the incumbent will regularly serve our French and English-speaking clients
- Call centre experience, in the health or insurance sector, or in a structured, call-based role
- Knowledge of medical terminology (completed or in-progress training required)
- Comfortable discussing medical information with clarity, accuracy, and sensitivity
- Excellent listening skills and ability to follow structured questionnaires and scripts
- High attention to detail and excellent accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly structured environment
- Professional judgment and commitment to confidentiality
- Positive and collaborative attitude with clients and internal partners
- Reliability Status and Security Clearance - Only candidates who have received a job offer can undergo these checks. This is a personal security clearance required as a condition of employment. It must be obtained before an employee can access Protected B level information, assets, or workplaces, as indicated on the Government of Canada website. Fees associated with these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
