About the Role
The Sanitation Worker reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of processing equipment and the facility in a fast-paced, repetitive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all production/processing equipment and facility according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Clean and maintain the interior of the plant, including floors, walls, ceilings, overhead pipes, and fixtures.
- Clean all processing equipment used in product preparation and packaging.
- Disassemble and assemble production equipment as needed for cleaning.
- Adhere to and utilize Company policies, procedures, and HACCP regulations.
- Remove inedible product and handle garbage pick-up.
- Ensure a safe work environment for co-workers, customers, and visitors.
- Handle and work with raw or cooked meat.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in food production or cleaning services is an asset.
- Ability to lift/handle material or equipment of moderate weight, up to 50lbs.
- Regular exposure to temperature variations or extremes.
- Works in a wet and humid environment.
- Uses chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing.
- Spends almost all the time standing or walking.
Work Type
- Full-Time
Salary/Compensations
- Starting wage rate: $20.00 per hour
- Six months wage rate: $22.50 per hour
- Full rate at 12 months: $25.00 per hour
- Shift premium: $0.60 per hour
