About the Role
This role involves supporting various aspects of the customer journey within the Annuity Client Services team, requiring the successful candidate to develop, integrate, and review actuarial calculations for the BPA proposition.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of complex member benefit calculations and member options with administrators.
- Check actuarial calculations performed by administrators, including transfer value calculations and retirement projections.
- Assist in the development of cashflow projection models to ensure accurate and beneficial outcomes for members.
- Process and check actuarial factors across the portfolio of BPA schemes.
- Draft process notes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure all team work is clearly documented with suitable audit trails and version control.
- Develop a strong understanding of pension benefit structures and options.
- Create bespoke models to address specific member benefits.
Requirements
- A degree (or equivalent) in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering or Economics, and/or strong A-Level (or equivalent) Mathematics results.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, perform complex calculations and identify anomalies.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze data and develop or maintain calculation models.
- An understanding of defined benefit pension schemes, member benefits and retirement options.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately, maintain clear documentation and operate within a controlled environment with appropriate audit trails.
- A proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement and developing technical expertise.
