About the Role

Join one of Canada’s top performing asset managers as an Institutional Portfolio Operations Analyst on a 1-year contract. This role is critical to the firm and clients' success, offering a challenging and rewarding experience within the asset management world with opportunities for growth and development at Connor, Clark & Lunn (CC&L).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key operational contact for billing activities, providing subject matter expertise and support for fee administration, invoicing, revenue reporting, and related operational matters.
  • Calculate institutional client and fund management fees, generate invoices, and coordinate the timely distribution of billing information.
  • Develop financial models and analytical tools to support fee negotiations, client proposals, revenue forecasting, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Coordinate the payment and administration of fund expenses across CC&L's diverse suite of pooled investment products.
  • Identify operational risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, and recommend solutions.
  • Partner with the IRG Process Automation Team to drive the evolution of billing operations through automation, workflow optimization, exception management, and enhanced control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and deliver operational excellence.
  • Support the development and maintenance of documented procedures, controls, methodologies, and governance practices.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the investment management industry, gained within an institutional asset manager, bank, trust company, or fund administrator.
  • Experience supporting fund accounting, management fee administration, fund expense processing, NAV oversight, or related operational functions is highly desirable.
  • Ability to articulate clearly through both verbal and written mediums.
  • Ability to work well with others to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to think rationally and problem solve effectively.

  • Sharp, self-motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic.
  • Seek to improve existing processes and help to implement creative solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 technologies, including Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query, and VBA), Power BI, SharePoint, and Power Automate.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data, automation, and technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, support scalable processes, and deliver actionable business insights.
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools and solutions is considered an asset.
