About the Role
Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in North Babylon, NY. This role involves collecting specimens and providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Collects specimens by performing venipuncture, finger sticks, and other collection methods.
- Performs specimen processing and prepares specimens for transport.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Adheres to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
- Current phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record keeping.
