About the Role
The Human Resources Partner (HRP) supports operational leaders and staff in a 24/7 emergency response environment. This role involves coaching leaders, solving problems, enhancing the employee experience, modernizing processes, using data for decision-making, and contributing to the future of HR at Monroe Ambulance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operations leaders managing EMTs, paramedics, and dispatch teams.
- Translate business needs into scalable people strategies.
- Utilize workforce data to drive conversations and decisions.
- Act as a coach, challenger, and trusted advisor to managers.
- Support the rollout of new HR systems, tools, and processes.
- Identify and redesign outdated or inefficient HR processes.
- Improve onboarding, development, engagement, and retention processes.
- Contribute to building a proactive People function.
- Coach leaders through difficult conversations and employee relations issues.
- Elevate manager capability in problem-solving.
- Help foster a culture of accountability and respect.
- Conduct investigations with fairness and confidence.
- Complete stay interviews to understand culture trends.
- Partner with hiring managers to attract and secure talent.
- Assist with recruiting strategy, candidate screening, interviewing, and offer development.
- Improve the hiring experience for managers and candidates.
- Support workforce planning initiatives.
- Support succession planning, leadership development, and performance management.
- Identify skill gaps and implement training for leaders and employees.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations.
- Partner with Safety and Compliance teams.
- Coordinate leaves of absence and worker’s compensation.
- Proactively manage risk.
- Support day-to-day benefits administration.
- Communicate benefits effectively to employees.
- Use benefits and total rewards data to improve retention and satisfaction.
- Contribute to modernizing the total rewards strategy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Ability to build relationships with frontline and leadership teams.
- Comfort supporting hourly, shift-based, or 24/7 operations.
- Confidence in managing employee relations independently.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and HR data analytics.
- Data curiosity and ability to use numbers to tell a story.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build credibility quickly.
- Experience in healthcare, emergency services, logistics, or high-growth environments is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally to local events.
