About the Role
Reid Accountants + Advisors is seeking an experienced Director, Tax & Accounting to lead tax compliance, planning, and accounting. This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, review, research, and strategic advisory services.
- Review complex Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate tax returns and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for key clients, identifying tax strategies, risks, and planning opportunities.
- Stay current on tax laws and regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable recommendations for clients.
- Lead engagement planning, staffing, workflow, and quality while keeping Partners informed of significant client and technical matters.
- Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and staff while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, introduce additional firm services, and support practice growth.
- Collaborate with Partners and firm leadership on client initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CPA license required.
- 7+ years of public accounting experience within a CPA firm, including progressive leadership responsibility.
- Strong technical expertise across Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate taxation.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex tax engagements, managing client relationships, and developing accounting professionals.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards for quality and client service.
- Ability to commute or relocate to New York (Required).
