About the Role
The UNIQLO Store Management Internship offers hands-on retail leadership experience on the sales floor, supporting store operations and developing leadership skills. This internship is a pathway to a long-term career with UNIQLO, with top performers considered for the UNIQLO Management Candidate (UMC) Program.
Responsibilities
- Work on the sales floor assisting with customer service, product merchandising, and daily store operations.
- Serve as Manager on Duty during shifts, leading store operations and motivating the team toward daily KPIs.
- Gain insight into retail business operations and their impact on consumers.
- Collaborate on a project to improve store operations or customer experience, presenting findings to company leaders.
- Focus approximately 20% of time on a project tackling store improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Enrolled at an accredited college or university for an undergraduate or graduate degree, sophomore or above in graduation date (i.e. graduating in Fall Spring 2027/2028 or later from a graduate program).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Available for in-person orientation in New York City the first week of the program.
- Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week in-stores.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of UNIQLO’s stores and products.
- Previous retail, hospitality, or food/beverage customer-facing experience.
- Strong leadership and teamwork experience.
- Strong interest in retail, specifically as a future store manager.
- Basic experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, and SharePoint.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to calculate basic retail math and analyze sales results.
- Strong public speaking and project presentation skills.
- Ability to advocate and problem-solve independently.
- Proactive in group conversations.
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations, including constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, standing for at least two consecutive hours, and lifting at least 30 lbs.
- May occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
