About the Role

The Media Forward Fund supports innovation projects and startups in public-interest journalism in the DACH region. This role involves developing and implementing the Upskilling program, connecting media professionals to foster public-interest journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Implement formats for the Upskilling program, including Deep Dive Events, Learning Visits, and coordination of coaches for individual coaching.
  • Coordinate events such as jury and advisory board weeks, and participation in partner events.
  • Contribute to topic selection and research suitable speakers, with an eye for inspiring formats.
  • Manage service providers, including location, technology, and catering, and oversee event flow.
  • Coordinate Learning Visits and individual coaching sessions in close collaboration with the funding team, focusing on quality and impact.
  • Expand and maintain the network of funding partners and potential applicants with care and commitment.
  • Manage event management administrative tasks, including billing for event formats.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree or comparable qualification.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in program and event organization, ideally in a learning-oriented or civil society environment.
  • Good understanding of people, topics, and community building, with a passion for hosting.
  • Proficient in MS Office, experienced with digital project management tools, and basic familiarity with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).
  • Independent work style, enjoyment of team coordination, and enthusiasm for a startup mentality organization.
  • Openness to new ideas, pragmatic solution orientation, and enjoyment of collaborative creation.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe, particularly in the DACH region.
  • Identification with the goals and values of the organization.
