About the Role
The Field Service Technician is accountable for system installation, commissioning, and customer support. This role involves reviewing and resolving warranty claims, assisting customers with non-warranty issues, and supporting services and maintenance of existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Eos commercial BESS and third-party products in the field, remotely via email, telephone, and remote support tools, and through site visits.
- Utilize company-provided Field Service and Work Order Management tools to retrieve and update information accurately and timely.
- Write reports, train customers, and respond to customer concerns regarding system functionality and performance.
- Develop detailed knowledge of Eos’ commercial products and third-party products sold by Eos.
- Perform acceptance & performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.
- Regularly work with high voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and the relevant software of BESS and third-party products.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with Sr. FSTs and Engineers.
- Ability to communicate challenges forthrightly and accurately.
- Solid computer skills including Windows and Office.
- Awareness of electrical, crane, forklift, and construction work safety.
- Understanding of DC Electrical systems and controls.
- Knowledge of using electrical voltage meters and electrical testing equipment.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead by example and through influence.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, working at field installations up to 100% of working time for up to three weeks at a time.
- Ability to work at great heights, in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Experience in applied problem-solving methodology.
- Electrical safety training, NFPA70E or similar.
