About the Role

The Interventional Radiology PA/NP works collaboratively with interventional radiologists in the assessment and therapeutic treatment of patients. This role serves as a key liaison between referring physicians, patients, and radiologists, ensuring optimal and efficient interdisciplinary coordination of services in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Providing Pre- and Post-procedure assessment and education to patients and their families
• Conducting history and physical exams
• Serving as a liaison between referring physician and interventional radiologists
• Managing the ambulatory and inpatient procedure schedule
• Ordering and interpreting labs results and prescribing medications
• Initiating coordination of care between radiology modalities and inpatient floors
• Managing and appropriately escalating post procedure issues
• Inserting, evaluating and maintaining Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs)
• Processing Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
• Ordering and administration of contrast agents and providing assessments for premedication

Requirements

• Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) NPs/PAs are committed to personalized, high-quality healthcare and are held to the same legal and ethical standards of care as physicians and surgeons.
• Current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant or a Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner
• Board certification from NCCPA, ANCC or AANP
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Displays a positive attitude toward work assignments, performance feedback, and interactions with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors
• Willingly adheres to Department and Hospital policies and procedures
• Willingly adheres to practice standards outlined by Hospital and governing regulatory bodies
• Maintains computer literacy, including proficiency in Outlook email and E-learning
• Attend In-Service meetings regularly and punctually

• $156,576.13 - $173,563.63
