About the Role
This entry-level or senior executive marketing role is an excellent opportunity to start or build a career in digital marketing. You will work closely with the Digital Subscription Marketing Manager, contributing to daily tasks that drive growth in paid digital subscribers. Expect to gain hands-on experience across a varied mix of channels and projects, learning a lot and contributing from day one. We are looking for a curious, creative, and eager-to-learn self-starter with energy and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of subscription, content, and brand campaigns across social, search, email, and print.
- Assist in shaping the paid social strategy to support subscription growth.
- Collaborate with design and product teams on campaign planning and execution, coordinating activity and keeping projects moving.
- Assist with newsletter and registration lead generation to build audience and feed the subscriber pipeline.
- Assist in supporting strategic partnerships from set-up through to completion.
- Monitor emerging news stories and flag opportunities to promote the brand and drive subscriptions.
- Contribute to new marketing initiatives as they arise.
- Monitor performance against key marketing metrics including volumes, conversion rates, and channel performance versus budget.
- Assist in gathering data and insights to understand what's working and what needs improvement.
- Ensure all activity follows The i Paper brand guidelines.
- Support designers, product, and editorial to maintain quality and consistency across all subscriber-facing touchpoints.
- Assist with reviewing campaign and channel performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and results.
- Help with A/B testing across email, landing pages, and ad creative, documenting findings and sharing learnings.
- Flag drop-off points in subscription journeys and escalate for resolution.
- Help stay updated on platform updates and best practices.
- Monitor competitor activities and share relevant insights with the team.
- Assist in building an understanding of industry trends that could shape future campaign thinking and strategy.
Requirements
- Some experience in a marketing role, or a strong desire to build a career in marketing.
- Proactive nature; ability to take initiative and flag issues early.
- Instinct for performance on different social channels (Instagram/Facebook/Reddit etc.).
- Understanding of social media platform culture and trends.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage workload and ensure accuracy.
- Strong written English with solid copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Comfortable working with data and drawing sensible conclusions from performance dashboards.
- Ability to follow the news and identify marketing opportunities.
- Creative and visually minded with a good eye for engaging, on-brand visuals and copy.
- Some experience in a D2C or subscription-based environment (desirable).
- Exposure to multi-channel marketing, campaign operations, or marketing tools (desirable).
- Hands-on experience with email, paid social, or paid search (desirable).
- An interest in news, media, or the digital publishing landscape (desirable).
