About the Role
The Facilities worker position is responsible for routine upkeep and maintenance of agency vehicles, equipment, and property. This role reports directly to the Facilities Supervisor and is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity of our sites.
Responsibilities
- Completes daily assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Picks up, lifts, and delivers furniture and equipment to all sites upon request.
- Performs light construction, snow shoveling, and general repair and maintenance of minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building issues.
- Performs painting and patching based on work orders or emergency situations.
- Maintains agency vehicles, ensuring they are serviced appropriately beyond oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections.
- Maintains lawn equipment and performs general grounds maintenance as needed or directed.
- Mows all In Flight properties on a weekly basis.
- Performs snow removal, including shoveling or plowing, and participates in an on-call rotation for snow removal.
- Participates in the weekly on-call rotation.
- Follows all NYS and OPWDD regulations, as well as all local and federal laws and regulations.
- Performs any related duties as requested by the Facilities Supervisor and/or Executive Director.
Requirements
- Must have knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting.
- Must have knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per agency policy.
- Must pass all NYS Justice Center Background Check Requirements and Physical.
- Employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law (including any motor vehicle infractions) to Human Resources.
- Employee agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position.
