About the Role

Provides advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, focusing on tribal family mental health and wellness. Delivers disease prevention, diagnosis, medication evaluation, and treatment for psychiatric and health conditions. Offers counseling services, including individual, group, and family therapy, as well as parenting education and other prevention/educational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides disease prevention, diagnosis, medication evaluation and treatment of psychiatric and health conditions.
  • Provides counseling services including individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Provides parenting education and other prevention/educational programs.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to make independent decisions based on protocol.
  • Ability to document and navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) independently.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with individuals involved in all aspects of treatment, including but not limited to children, parents, partner agencies, and Mohegan Tribe employees.
  • Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must possess Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ANCC Board Certified, State of CT Licensure.
  • Must possess Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration.
  • Must possess APRN, State of Connecticut.
  • Successful candidate must pass the background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with The Mohegan Tribe’s Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Policy.
  • No Suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal or state health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, Husky).
  • Ability to work 40 full hours per week with work hours usually falling between 7am and 7pm.
