About the Role
As an Internal Auditor, you’ll dive deep into how the Council operates, helping teams work smarter and deliver better outcomes for the people served. It’s a role that blends analysis and curiosity, with scope for growth and impact.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and deliver audits across Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham Councils.
- Identify what's working well and areas for improvement within local government operations.
- Scope audits, research background information, and meet with staff at all levels.
- Test controls in place and analyze findings to highlight risks.
- Recommend practical improvements that are sustainable.
- Write clear, focused reports to aid leadership decision-making.
- Juggle multiple projects and manage time effectively.
- Keep stakeholders informed throughout the audit process.
- Shine a light on performance and drive real change through audits.
Requirements
- Recent experience in internal audit.
- Ability to hit the ground running.
- Knowledge of what a good audit looks like and how to execute one from start to finish.
- Curiosity and confidence working independently.
- Ability to ask the right questions and involve others when necessary.
- Skill in building rapport with people at all levels.
- Adaptable communication style.
- Strong writing skills.
- Good project management and timekeeping abilities.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced learning environment.
- Understanding of the public sector or a keen interest to learn.
- Ability to explain how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description.

Salary/Compensations
- New hires will start at the minimum of the advertised salary range.
- Employees receive annual salary increases until they reach the top of the pay scale.
