About the Role
Michael Kors is seeking a talented and globally-minded individual with a passion for fashion to join our Omni Planning department as an Assistant Product Planner in London. This role supports the Product Planning team in developing sales, inventory, and margin plans across multiple channels, analyzing trading performance, and preparing business reviews.
Responsibilities
- Support the Product Planning team in developing and maintaining category-level sales, inventory and margin plans across Retail, Outlet, E-commerce and Wholesale channels.
- Analyse weekly trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities across sales, inventory, sell-through, markdown and profitability metrics.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and seasonal business reviews, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support commercial decision making.
- Assist in managing Open-to-Buy (OTB) and inventory forecasts to ensure optimal stock levels aligned to business objectives and customer demand.
- Partner closely with Buying, Merchandising and Allocation teams to ensure product assortments and inventory strategies are aligned across channels and markets.
- Produce category, channel and regional performance analysis, identifying key trends, best sellers, customer preferences and emerging opportunities.
- Support pre-season planning activities, including line planning, assortment analysis, buy reviews and forecasting exercises.
- Monitor product lifecycle performance and provide recommendations on markdown, replenishment and inventory optimisation strategies.
- Develop a strong understanding of regional market dynamics and customer behaviour across EMEA to inform planning decisions.
- Maintain planning tools, reporting and dashboards to ensure timely, accurate and insightful business analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new initiatives, process improvements and strategic planning projects.
- Conduct regular store and market visits to strengthen customer understanding and provide actionable commercial feedback.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting capabilities and business performance.
- Partner closely with the Allocation team to develop and execute initial launch strategies, ensuring product investments are distributed effectively based on demand forecasts, store grading, capacity and market opportunities.
- Support the creation and ongoing refinement of replenishment strategies across core and seasonal product categories, balancing sales opportunities with inventory efficiency.
- Analyse store, regional and channel performance to identify allocation opportunities, stock imbalances and inventory risks, providing recommendations to maximise sales and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning systems and data visualisation tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong commercial awareness with an interest in luxury retail, consumer trends and product performance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Proactive, curious and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Previous experience in Planning, Merchandising, Buying, Allocation or a similar retail analytical role preferred.
