About the Role
The NG UK Communications Manager leads the development, integration, and execution of the strategic communication plan aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities. The role also includes the execution of NG UK’s Marcomms activities, covering media, brand development, and employee communication strategies. NG UK is a key focus country in NGC’s global expansion strategy, with a projected significant revenue growth, requiring a platform to support this expansion and assist Northrop Grumman in becoming a global player.
Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate the implementation of an integrated communication strategy to build NG UK’s external reputation and internal culture.
- Collaborate with International, Corporate, and Sector Communication teams for approvals, guidance, and synergy optimization.
- Assist in developing communication strategies or messages from senior leadership.
- Deliver structured engagement with customers, media, employees, and the community through events, partnerships, and membership organizations.
- Develop key employee communication channels and content, including messages from the UK Leadership team.
- Evolve the NG UK digital presence through channels such as NG.com, LinkedIn, and the NG UK intranet.
- Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews and statements from senior leadership.
- Foster relationships with advocates and key persons critical to developing the NG UK market presence and brand.
- Provide subject matter expertise and advice to senior leaders and internal communication professionals.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports.
- Ensure communications budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met.
- Represent NG UK as an internal and external contact on communication initiatives, interacting with director and VP-level customer management, and influencing customer perceptions.
- Role model the NG corporate leadership behaviors and values.
- Work with the Trade Show Steering Committee to deliver NGUK’s participation at all UK tier 1 trade shows, including DSEI and RIAT.
- Work with NGUK’s leadership and BD teams to facilitate NGUK’s participation at events, including event strategy, branding, collateral, invitations, and on-the-ground event management.
- Manage NGUK’s relationships with membership organizations, think tanks, charities, and STEM partners.
Requirements
- UK citizenship required.
- Ability to gain and maintain relevant UK Government security clearance (SC).
Skills
- Developing end-to-end, multi-channel communications plans.
- Providing communication advice on a range of business issues.
- Identifying and acting on communication opportunities and challenges resulting from business or macro-level change.
- Leading the successful implementation of customer events.
- Writing media releases, speeches, and feature stories for external publication.
- Delivering external communications campaigns, earned and unearned, via web and social media (LinkedIn particularly) to multiple audiences.
- Managing and leveraging relationships with third-party stakeholder organizations (e.g., membership organizations, professional bodies, media agencies, think tanks).
