About the Role

Responsible for covering the full coaching remit, leading an effective coaching program for U13 players in the early youth development phase. Deliver and develop performance pathways and plans, creating an optimum environment for youth players to develop and grow, focusing on creating effective team players, lifelong learners, efficient movers, and a champion mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver impactful training sessions, leading players to develop and coordinate individual and team training sessions to maximize potential.
  • Uphold high standards by working closely with the Head of Academy Coaching to comply with Premier League, FA, and EPPP rules and requirements, ensuring PMA is kept up to date.
  • Champion insightful feedback by providing a reporting platform for constructive feedback at the end of each term for players and working with the relevant phase Coaching team to implement player review meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the club, assisting other coaches in the relevant youth development phase to prepare and debrief matches, and working with physical performance, analysis, and psychological and operational support staff.
  • Evolve the coaching program by seeking out ways to improve it and assisting with the implementation and operation of these ideas.
  • Advocate for effective CPD by working with the Head of Academy Coaching to implement a program of continuous professional development for the Academy team.
  • Support squad selection processes by operating as an active member of the youth squad selection team, analysing player skills and capabilities through player progress meetings.
  • Build bridges from Pre-Academy to Academy by creating a positive link with Pre-Academy players, parents/guardians, and staff to ensure a smooth transition.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in elite football coaching with experience coaching elite youth players who have progressed to professional football.
  • Demonstrable experience working with elite academy players of this age group, possessing proven EPPP knowledge and a history of using the PMA.
  • Ability to work as part of a coaching team and within the guidelines set by the Academy Manager.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with players and communicate key technical messages effectively.
  • Keen awareness of player development and ability to set realistic goals for players and the team.
  • Motivated and driven with a commitment and natural passion for the game.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Act as a role model at all times, embodying Academy and club values.
  • Must uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm.
  • Required to keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.
  • Successful candidates are required to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks.
