About the Role

The Commercial Valuations team is looking to recruit an Associate to join our London office. You will be responsible for valuing office and retail properties across Central London, coordinating major REIT and property company portfolios valued at over £20 billion. This role offers exposure to high-profile instructions, established clients, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quarterly, biannual and annual valuations for commercial real estate assets.
  • Consider market conditions, comparable evidence, and asset management initiatives in valuations.
  • Coordinate portfolio valuation instructions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Undertake ad hoc loan security valuations.
  • Collaborate with Partners to grow the client base and secure new instructions.
  • Utilize valuation software including Argus Enterprise, Argus Developer, KEL, and MRI.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for valuation matters.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured valuation reports.
  • Attend client valuation meetings and provide market insights.
  • Build trusted client relationships and represent Knight Frank professionally.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Central London office and retail markets.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property legislation, case law, and RICS requirements.
  • Build relationships with colleagues in Leasing, Capital Markets, and Research.
  • Stay informed of property market developments through industry and national press.
  • Maintain accurate valuation records according to Knight Frank's procedures.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Take responsibility for continued professional development in line with RICS requirements.
  • Own allocated instructions and contribute to the core valuation team.
  • Work closely with Partners, Associates, Surveyors, and Graduates.
  • Collaborate with other departments for market information and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Share knowledge and support the development of junior team members.

Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Surveyor with strong commercial valuation experience.
  • Confidence to manage client relationships and complex portfolio instructions.
  • MRICS qualification.
  • Registration under the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme.
  • Broad experience of UK commercial property and secured lending valuations.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an accurate, organised approach to work.
  • Ability to prepare clear, factual, and timely valuation reports.
  • Thorough approach to research and evidence gathering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence to work directly with clients and other property professionals.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive interest in building internal and external profile.
