About the Role
This role is for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join the Public Sector Business Development team. The successful candidate will contribute to Veolia’s vision of achieving a substantial share of the UK market for public sector waste management and environmental services contracts.
Responsibilities
- Understand client needs, requirements, key deliverables, and considerations for Veolia in bid development.
- Develop solutions (technical, legal, financial) in collaboration with the Business Development Manager and project team.
- Ensure buy-in and development of robust proposals with operational and business support functions.
- Submit tenders on time and in line with client requirements.
- Write high-quality, detailed Method Statements detailing the bid’s technical solution.
- Manage presentation preparation and attend client meetings.
- Administer the procurement process and project plan.
- Manage liaison with Local Authorities for clarification.
- Lead on specific aspects of the tender solution.
- Produce work with a high standard of accuracy and consistency.
- Provide other project management and general support for the department as needed.
Requirements
- Well-organized individual with a very high standard of written English.
- Strong IT ability with advanced level in Word.
- Proficient use of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ideally familiar with Google Suite.
- Ambitious individual that wishes to learn and progress within a high-performing Business Development team delivering profitable growth.
- Previous bidding and/or business development experience.
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility in regard to working hours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- High level of confidentiality, as working with business-critical data.
- Equally comfortable working in a team and working on own initiative.
