About the Role

Join our Gateway Infrastructure team within our Aviation & Ports Division as a Senior Civil Engineer and help shape the future of some of the UK's most critical transport hubs. You'll work on challenging projects that leave a lasting legacy, contributing to the delivery of industry-leading infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. You will lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from airside and landside airport infrastructure to port terminals, and associated energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from airside and landside airport infrastructure to port terminals, and associated energy infrastructure.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
  • Enhance operational efficiency, improve passenger and freight movements and capacity, and support the transition to more sustainable transport networks.
  • Support strategic masterplanning, undertake detailed design / design management, or provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.
  • Take ownership of challenging projects.
  • Build strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth of a dynamic sector team.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership with ICE or another relevant institution, with Chartered status.
  • Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects within aviation, ports, transportation, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering and foundation design.
  • Experience managing project packages, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.
  • Communicates confidently and effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Produces high-quality technical deliverables with excellent attention to detail.
  • Applies a proactive and analytical approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
  • Manages competing priorities effectively while maintaining a focus on quality and project outcomes.
  • Identifies opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable design solutions.
