About the Role

Woven by Toyota is contributing to Toyota's 100-year transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a history of inventing for others, our mission is to expand the definition of mobility, enhance its societal contributions, and challenge the status quo with people-centric innovation. We operate across four pillars: AD/ADAS, Arene (vehicle software production platform for SDVs), Woven City (mobility test course), and Cloud & AI (digital infrastructure). Essential business functions support these teams as we collectively work towards realizing a "zero-accident society" and "mass production of happiness."

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Product Owner, collaborating with engineers, BizDev members, and internal/external stakeholders to design target customers, value propositions, positioning, Go-to-Market strategies, and commercialization messaging.
  • Support the planning of PoCs/MVPs and validate market acceptance and customer value through dialogue with customers, advancing preparations for commercialization.
  • Leverage Toyota's mobility assets and Woven City's testing environment to engage in activities from validation to business development.
  • Specify target customers, customer issues, competitive advantages, and market positioning by concretizing existing business, customer, and product hypotheses through user interviews and PoCs with client companies.
  • Design value propositions, product messages, key use cases, and customer appeal points for commercialization through discussions with potential customers and sales channel partners.
  • Validate market acceptance, customer value, price acceptance, and Go-to-Market hypotheses based on PoCs/MVPs and customer feedback, proposing improvements to pricing, packaging, and Go-to-Market strategies.
  • Create Go-to-Market plans, launch plans, positioning materials, messaging documents, customer proposal materials, sales/partner materials, and internal/external documents.
  • Promote launch preparations for commercialization, external communications, sales/partner enablement, and post-market introduction improvement activities in collaboration with product, engineering, business development, public relations/communications, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of practical experience in product marketing, product planning, business development, new business development, Go-to-Market strategy, or related fields.
  • Experience organizing customer issues, adoption needs, adoption barriers, and purchasing/decision-making processes through interviews and negotiations with potential customers, existing customers, and partners.
  • Experience in hypothesizing, validating, and improving business/product issues with high uncertainty based on customer feedback and market information.
  • Experience organizing and designing value propositions, product messages, key use cases, and customer appeal points based on customer issues and market needs.
  • Experience creating documents necessary for internal and external decision-making and consensus building, such as proposal documents, sales materials, partner explanation materials, positioning documents, internal explanation documents, and executive-level documents.
  • Experience promoting projects in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including product, engineering, business development, public relations/communications, legal, finance, and external partners.
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency and conversational English skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
