About the Role

This role is a key member of the Balance Sheet Investments team within Group Finance, responsible for financial control, valuation governance, reporting, and oversight of ICG's balance sheet investments. The position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of private market investments and involves shaping the future operating model of the Investments team through automation, reporting enhancements, governance improvements, and data-led process transformation.

Responsibilities

Own financial control activities for designated balance sheet investment portfolios.
Ensure investment transactions, income recognition, valuations, and related balances are recorded completely, accurately, and on a timely basis.
Review monthly substantiation, reconciliation, and control activities.
Deliver monthly and quarterly management information and supporting analysis.
Support the production of annual and interim financial statements and related disclosures.
Maintain high-quality process documentation, controls, and supporting evidence.
Support audit activity and act as a primary contact for external auditors in areas of responsibility.
Review valuation submissions and supporting information.
Perform independent analysis and challenge of valuation movements and assumptions.
Support Group Valuation Committee deliverables, including valuation dashboards, investment analytics, and other materials.
Monitor key risks, issues, and control exceptions and ensure appropriate escalation.
Support implementation of improvements to governance frameworks and control environments.
Actively participate in delivering priorities across Balance Sheet Investments and wider Group Finance functions, including dashboard reporting, management information development, data quality and control improvements, and process automation and efficiency programs.
Build strong partnerships within Group Finance and across Fund Operations, Shareholder Relations, Tax, and Treasury.
Support knowledge sharing and development across teams in London and Pune.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent).
Relevant experience in Financial Control, Financial Reporting, Investment Accounting, or Audit.
Experience working within private markets, alternative asset management, financial services, or similar complex investment environments.
Understanding of financial control frameworks and reporting disciplines.
Experience analyzing complex financial information and communicating conclusions clearly.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
Experience auditing or controlling private market investments (desirable).
Knowledge of IFRS fair value measurement requirements (desirable).
Exposure to listed group reporting environments (desirable).
Experience delivering process improvement, automation, or finance transformation projects (desirable).
Awareness of investment structures across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, or secondaries strategies (desirable).
Highly driven and motivated.
Collaborative working style.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Technical mindset with a positive, flexible, and ‘can do’ attitude and ability to deliver under pressure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with large amounts of data.
