About the Role
IN2 is seeking a motivated intern in mechanical engineering or technical building equipment (TGA) to support our growing team in Berlin. You will gain practical experience in planning mechanical building services and work with engineers on projects for various building types. This position is ideal for someone looking to apply academic knowledge to practical planning experience and learn how technical projects are developed, coordinated, and implemented.
Responsibilities
- Create and edit TGA models in Autodesk Revit.
- Support the coordination of HVAC and electrical models.
- Maintain model structure including levels, grids, views, plans, families, and parameters according to project-specific requirements.
- Assist in the creation of coordinated design and execution documents.
- Participate in the coordination of shafts, technical rooms, ceiling areas, and TGA routes.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks, Solibri, or comparable software.
- Process and track coordination points in ACC, BIMcollab, Dalux, or similar platforms.
- Attend internal and external BIM and coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with specialist planners, project managers, architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Conduct basic quality checks of BIM models according to internal and project-specific standards.
- Assist with model exchange and management of digital project documentation within the CDE.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of Revit templates, families, and BIM workflows.
- Support the BIM team in the continuous improvement of existing workflows and standards.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in BIM-based TGA planning or BIM coordination, preferably in the DACH region.
- Completed studies or technical training as a technician, Bachelor, or Master in building services, energy technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, civil engineering, or a comparable technical field.
- Experience in planning and coordinating construction projects, ideally in areas such as data centers, pharmaceuticals, offices, life sciences, infrastructure, residential construction, or healthcare.
- Very good knowledge of Autodesk Revit and experience in modeling TGA systems.
- Good knowledge of model coordination and clash detection with Navisworks, Solibri, or comparable software.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIMcollab, Dalux, or comparable platforms is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of HOAI and the requirements in service phases LP2 to LP5.
- Basic knowledge of BIM documentation such as AIA and BAP, as well as project-specific BIM requirements.
- Basic understanding of OpenBIM processes, IFC, and model-based data exchange.
- Experience in TGA coordination of shafts, technical rooms, routes, and ceiling areas is advantageous.
- Proficient in handling common file formats such as RVT, IFC, DWG, and PDF.
- Knowledge of Dynamo, Python, or other automation tools is advantageous.
- Experience with TGA planning software such as MagiCAD and LINEAR is advantageous.
- Good German language skills (B1) and good English language skills (B2).
