About the Role
Amnesty International Deutschland e.V. is seeking a Federal Volunteer (m/f/d) for the Connect & Support team in Berlin, starting October 1, 2026. This full-time position (38 hours/week) offers the opportunity to gain initial work experience in an internationally active human rights organization and gain insights into daily operations. The role focuses on supporting event management, with opportunities to contribute to projects and learn about human rights discussions.
Responsibilities
- Support subject matter experts in preparing, conducting, and following up on internal events for approximately 50 to 500 people, including the annual general meeting and member conferences.
- Assist in the further development of virtual and hybrid conference formats.
- Provide support for member and guest management during (virtual) events.
- Create information and instructions for the membership.
- Maintain supporter data and process inquiries.
- Handle correspondence, both internal and external, and perform general office organization and administrative tasks.
- Participate in documenting workflows.
- Support the internal communications department.
Requirements
- Political interest in human rights issues and the work of a large member organization.
- Knowledge of the MS Office suite and willingness to learn internal systems (e.g., Confluence).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with an interest in understanding background structures and processes.
- Conscientious, independent, and structured work style, with a willingness to commit, learn, and take initiative.
- Ability to work well in a team, enjoy interacting with people, and possess a high level of service orientation.
- Good English language skills and very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
- Helpfulness, absolute reliability, and trustworthy handling of sensitive information and data.
