About the Role

As a Junior System Administrator, you will play a central role in our IT team, taking responsibility for a wide range of tasks including Jira administration, contract management, telecommunications and network infrastructure, IT logistics, system image creation, asset management, IT support, cloud administration, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Jira Administration: Maintenance, customization, and management of our Jira system.
  • Contract Management: Support in the supervision and administration of IT and network contracts.
  • Telecommunications & Network: Participation in the administration and further development of our network and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • IT Logistics: Organization and shipping of hardware to employees and students.
  • Image Management: Contribution to the creation, maintenance, and further development of system images for our hardware setups (Windows/Linux).
  • Asset Management: Responsibility for maintaining and tracking our hardware in the snipeit.io tool.
  • IT Support: Assisting colleagues with technical problems in a solution-oriented and hands-on manner.
  • Cloud Administration: Junior-level support in the administration of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Google Workspace).
  • Cyber Security: Contribution to the planning and administration of security measures for websites, user accounts, and servers.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in computer science/IT, or comparable professional experience as a career starter.
  • Sound knowledge of Windows, Linux, and MacOS environments.
  • Experience in IT system and network administration, as well as handling common network technologies.
  • Initial experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Google Workspace).
  • Ideally, knowledge of Jira and asset management tools (e.g., snipeit.io).
  • Independent, structured, and reliable way of working.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
