About the Role

We are seeking a Patent Engineer to support our business units in patent applications, oppositions, and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses. This role involves conducting prior art searches, collaborating with external patent attorneys, and assisting with patent monitoring and database utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prior art searches (technical property rights).
  • Support business units with new applications, oppositions, and FTO analyses by evaluating property rights and conducting targeted searches.
  • Collaborate with external patent attorneys on a project basis.
  • Support business units with patent monitoring and the use of the internal patent database.
  • Prepare and analyze data for internal controlling.

Requirements

  • Completed engineering or science degree.
  • Sound knowledge in sensor and measurement technology, especially electronic circuit technology, is desired.
  • Ideally, experience with corporate intellectual property and international searches for technical property rights.
  • Independent, results-oriented work style, ability and willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas, entrepreneurial thinking, dynamic action, and confident demeanor.
  • Confident German and English language skills are essential due to our international focus.
