About the Role
Assistant Branch Managers are accountable for handling member communications, including telephone calls and postal mail, monitoring work quality, processing new memberships and credit applications, performing GL reconciliation, and conducting branch audits. This role involves answering inquiries, processing transactions, and cross-selling products and services while meeting established service standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitors member communications received via postal mail.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all Credit Union products and services to cross-sell appropriately.
- Builds member relationships by exceeding expectations, meeting deadlines, and anticipating needs.
- Upholds the Credit Union's tradition of excellence by taking ownership of member issues, seeking solutions, and ensuring accurate transaction processing.
- Contributes to a team environment through respect, support, and positive communication.
- Provides staff with training tools and resources for personal development.
- Monitors membership volume to ensure timely assistance.
- Processes authorized data changes at the membership and account level.
- Completes assigned reports, tasks, and projects within established guidelines.
- Meets established individual and team sales and service goals.
- Notifies Branch Manager of service concerns by monitoring member volume and service levels.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of IRA, trust, UTMA, and business account products.
- Assists the Branch Manager with branch administration, including membership volume, staff scheduling, and service standards.
- Handles escalated member issues.
- Serves as a loan funder.
- Monitors the work quality of Branch employees and coaches them to meet core values.
- Manages overall Branch operations to provide an exceptional member experience.
- Provides direction to staff for sales and service initiatives, including team coaching and motivation.
- Completes reports, tasks, and projects as assigned.
- Serves as a membership officer as required.
- Assists in compiling and analyzing reports to identify trends for process improvements.
- Performs other work as requested by the Branch Manager.
- Oversees Branch management in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- May serve as a Member Advocate as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Multi-tasking ability is a must.
- Work schedule will include Saturdays; shift will vary depending on branch needs.
- Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to write business communications to members and employees.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to reconcile member and general ledger accounts.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, dividends, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to operate a personal computer in a Windows environment.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.

- Hourly rate of $37.00 to $56.00
