About the Role
The Senior Consultant, Strategy and Risk leads complex, high-impact corporate strategy and enterprise risk management initiatives. This role serves as a senior project manager, guiding projects from inception to completion, establishing governance, timelines, deliverables, stakeholder engagement plans, and success metrics. The incumbent partners with leaders to achieve strategic outcomes, facilitates enterprise risk discussions, and develops actionable recommendations for executive and Board-level decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Leads strategic planning and risk analysis, including preparing presentations and materials for Executive Team and Board of Director meetings.
- Acts as a senior project manager to drive strategic initiatives and enterprise risk priorities, applying facilitation and planning skills.
- Leads complex strategic assessments, evaluates options, and develops recommendations for business challenges and opportunities.
- Synthesizes findings into actionable reports and presentations for senior leaders and the Board.
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships across the organization to support collaboration and integration of initiatives.
- Leads strategic and enterprise risk management initiatives by developing charters, roadmaps, facilitating status reporting, and supporting risk management framework implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
- Five to seven years of progressive experience in strategy, enterprise risk, transformation, or similar corporate environments.
- Strong project leadership skills with proven ability to define scope, navigate ambiguity, and deliver strategic initiatives.
- Advanced problem-solving skills to structure issues, evaluate options, and develop recommendations.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills to facilitate senior-level discussions and drive alignment.
- Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to build credibility with senior leaders.
- Experience with electrical utility or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
- Post-graduate education and/or relevant professional certification (e.g., MBA, MPA, PMP, P.Eng.) is an asset.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts and practices is an asset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to consult and facilitate executive discussions.
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
