About the Role

Gallagher Bassett Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster responsible for the investigation, evaluation, disposition, and settlement of claims, including general liability, product liability, and auto bodily injury.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, disposition, and settle claims.
• Handle general liability claims, product liability claims, and auto bodily injury claims.
• Negotiate claim settlements with solicitors and other parties.
• Analyze relevant policies to determine coverage.
• Identify allegations and assess coverage applicability.
• Handle claims consistent with client and corporate policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Adhere to statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
• Analytical skills to make decisions and resolve claims issues.
• Ability to negotiate claim settlements and interpret documentation.
• Ability to negotiate with solicitors and parties within granted authority.
• Understanding of various jurisdictional legal processes.
• Ability to identify potential litigation and non-litigation strategies.
• Experience in mediations, pre-trial conferences, and other resolution procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment.

• Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• High school diploma.
• 5 years of related claims experience.
• Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all provinces where claims are handled or able to obtain licenses/certification per local requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
• Computer experience with related claims and business software.
