About the Role

Sage Hospitality Group is hiring an On-Call Banquet Houseperson for the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas. The purpose of the position is to set, maintain, and update hotel meeting rooms according to the sales contract and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of banquet and meeting rooms.
• Ensure all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set up in a timely manner so that banquet service staff can prepare for functions.
• Assist banquet employees during functions.
• Responsible for putting everything away after the event is completed.
• Ensure all rooms have water.

Requirements

• Previous banquet area experience desirable.
• Minimum literacy required; may use alternative training tools.
• Ability to communicate with guests, other associates, and supervisor.
• Ability to adhere to appearance standards.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
• Mobility: ability to reach all areas of responsibility which includes: shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, under and around furniture.
• Standing for prolonged periods: continuously standing and/or walking to accomplish all that is required for the position.
• Climbing stairs - approximately 40 steps 15% of 40 hours weekly.
