About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal BIM Modeller to join our Buildings services team in Sydney. You will be part of a diverse team passionate about guiding projects and clients, and leading delivery across large infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques and criteria.
- Devise new approaches to problems.
- Perform non-routine and complex assignments involving coordination in the planning and conducting of projects.
- Coordinate portions of overall assignments and review the work of other digital designers.
- Outline objectives, requirements, and design approaches.
- Develop engineering and design models using Autodesk Revit and other modelling software independently.
- Present digital design delivery to clients.
- Support the engineering team in coordination with the external project team for clash detection.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Mentor other digital designers, understand their problems, and work alongside team members.
- Communicate complex digital design technical issues to the team, management, and clients.
- Utilize innovative and creative skills in using and promoting digital design and parametric modelling.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and overview of Mott MacDonald Revit Libraries and their utilization in project delivery.
- Ability to provide guidance to junior team members and improve libraries.
- Extensive understanding of Revit Families, including creating moderately complex parametric families.
- Implement the use of shared parameters from family environment to project environment.
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of drafting standards and presentation of drawings with little to no guidance.
- Provide guidance to junior level team members to develop their skill base.
- Develop a sound understanding of Cloud based collaboration on BIM360.
- Curious, experimental, and proactive mindset towards digital innovation.
- Collaborative working style with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical workflows to non-technical users.
- Comfortable working in an iterative, prototype-driven environment.
