About the Role
This role involves owning and managing a pipeline of new-to-trade and existing-to-trade opportunities within the Energy, Materials & Power sector. You will work through full sales cycles, partner with Relationship Managers to identify client needs and shape solutions, and deliver tailored trade finance outcomes while operating within regulatory frameworks. You will also strengthen HSBC’s sector presence by staying close to industry trends and engaging in relevant forums, while ensuring deals meet credit risk, operational risk, compliance policies, and client outcome standards.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage a pipeline of new-to-trade and existing-to-trade client opportunities through full sales cycles
- Partner with Relationship Managers to identify needs and deliver tailored trade finance solutions aligned with client requirements and regulatory frameworks
- Structure proposals and client pitches that articulate commercial value and fit-for-purpose Structured Trade, Core Trade, and Commodity Trade solutions
- Coordinate with coverage teams, product specialists and implementation teams to deliver end-to-end commercial solutions
- Partner with risk and compliance functions to progress deals in line with credit, operational risk and compliance policies
- Engage with global GTS counterparts to align on solutions and execution across a matrixed environment
- Monitor industry, economic and regulatory trends to identify sector-specific opportunities for GTS growth
- Safeguard portfolio quality by ensuring client outcome standards are met across all transactions
Requirements
- Proven experience selling trade finance solutions across full sales cycles from prospecting to deal closing
- Experience with the Commodities Trade Finance market and structures, including structured borrowing bases
- Demonstrate strong capability shaping structured and traditional trade finance solutions to client needs
- Produce persuasive proposals and client pitches for senior stakeholders including C-suite clients
- Communicate clearly in writing and in person with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Use MS Excel and PowerPoint effectively to support commercial analysis and presentations
- Collaborate effectively across global matrixed teams including product, risk and implementation partners
- Work confidently across time zones and coordinate delivery across multiple internal stakeholders
