About the Role
The Vice President/Senior Vice President, Human Resources (HR) serves as the company's senior people leader, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive people strategy to support business objectives, culture, organizational effectiveness, and growth. This executive leadership role partners closely with executives, managers, and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an integrated people and organizational strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board on talent, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, workforce planning, and culture.
- Translate business priorities into organizational structures, workforce capabilities, and talent strategies that support long-term growth.
- Lead change management, leadership effectiveness, and scalable HR infrastructure initiatives while maintaining an agile, mission-driven culture.
- Lead workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain exceptional scientific, clinical, technical, commercial, and corporate talent.
- Partner with leaders to define organizational needs, hiring priorities, and succession plans.
- Oversee recruiting processes, executive search activities, leadership development, coaching, performance management, and employee development programs.
- Strengthen management capabilities and organizational effectiveness across the company.
- Partner with leadership to strengthen and evolve Latigo's culture and values.
- Develop programs that foster employee engagement, collaboration, accountability, recognition, and high performance.
- Lead employee communications and change management strategies and employee feedback mechanisms.
- Lead the design and administration of competitive compensation, equity, benefits, and recognition programs.
- Partner closely with the CEO, CFO/CBO, Board, and Compensation Committee on executive compensation strategy.
- Oversee compensation planning, incentive programs, equity administration, and benefits strategy and market benchmarking.
- Oversee employee relations, HR operations, compliance, HR systems, policies, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Lead complex employee relations matters and manage external HR consultants and service providers.
- Support Board and Comp Committee activities and ensure HR processes align with governance, risk management, and public company requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, including senior HR leadership roles.
- Experience leading HR within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other innovation-driven organization.
- Demonstrated success supporting organizations through rapid growth, organizational change, and business transformation.
- Strong expertise across talent acquisition, org development, compensation & benefits, employee relations, performance management, HR operations, and employment practices.
- Experience partnering closely with executive leadership teams and Boards.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MA/MS, or related field).
- Prior experience in a publicly traded biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
- Experience supporting Comp Committees and Board governance activities.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification.
