About the Role
Royal Waste Services is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to support repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, small loaders, and other equipment used in our recycling facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with solid mechanical skills who can keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filters, adjustments, inspections).
- Repair and maintain forklifts, small payloaders, skid steers, and other facility equipment.
- Assist with basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and equipment-specific safety procedures.
- Perform proper lockout/tagout during repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately.
- Track parts usage and communication needs to the Maintenance Manager.
- Report recurring issues or equipment concerns promptly.
- Assist with equipment inspections and readiness checks.
- Support operations by ensuring equipment is available and functioning.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts or specialized repairs when needed.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance (industrial, warehouse, or waste industry preferred).
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read simple schematics or equipment manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
