About the Role
Play a critical role in the patient journey within a busy perioperative environment. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Operating Theatre Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the OTA service.
- Ensure effective workforce deployment, smooth theatre support services, and timely delivery of patient transport and equipment management.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the OTA team.
- Coordinate daily workloads, theatre assignments, break allocations, and roster requirements.
- Onboard, train, and develop team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Support the safe and respectful transportation and positioning of patients.
- Ensure theatre equipment and resources are available, maintained, and fit for purpose.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, NSQHS Standards, infection prevention requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination capability.
- Experience working within an operating theatre or perioperative environment.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a support services team.
- Experience coordinating workflow and supporting operational service delivery in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Relevant healthcare, patient services, or support services experience.
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety, infection control, and manual handling requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational demands.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care and fostering a positive team culture.
