About the Role
We are seeking a committed and professional Operating Theatre Assistant to join our surgical team in delivering exceptional, patient-centred perioperative care. This is an excellent opportunity to start or grow your career in healthcare while learning from an experienced and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating theatre, ensuring all equipment and supplies are fully prepared, sterile and ready for use.
- Clean and restock the theatre, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and sterility.
- Provide support in the safe and respectful preparation of patients for surgery, including assisting with patient transfers, positioning, and arranging beds to ensure comfort and safety.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
- Experience in an operating theatre or a similar clinical setting is ideal.
- A good understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures is important.
- A genuine commitment to creating a safe space for patients and staff.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced operating theatre environment where teamwork, learning and patient care go hand in hand.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for longer periods and assist with patient transfers when needed.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments.
