About the Role

Seeking two Leads with Java Fullstack development experience to contribute to an Insurance project in Tokyo.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable microservices, manage system integrations, and optimize database schemas.
• Develop modular user interfaces and build high-performance, secure backend APIs and frontend applications.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Build secure business logic and microservices using Java and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Design responsive user interfaces with Angular or React.
• Develop and expose robust RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
• Design database schemas, write optimized queries, and manage data via relational or NoSQL databases.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support CI/CD deployment pipelines on cloud platforms.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Work within an Agile lifecycle and understand Scrum team operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience, with at least 2-3 years in a Lead role managing/mentoring junior developers.
• Hands-on knowledge of Java (JDK 8/11/17+), JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Knowledge of Core Java, Spring MVC, Java Spring Boot, API Microservices, Python.
• Experience in Angular or React.js.
• Working knowledge of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server.
• Working experience with GitHub, Tomcat, and Maven.
• Experience with AWS Services: S3, ECS, RDS.
• Exposure and participation in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Japanese language proficiency is preferred but not essential.
